We at Blended Perspectives are heartbroken by the ongoing devastation caused by the wildfires that are raging across Australia. Australia is a place that is incredibly close to our hearts at Blended Perspectives, not only because Atlassian is an Australian company, but because I grew up in Sydney and my co-CEO Martin did his MBA in Melbourne.
Even though we are now in Canada, we will always care deeply about Australia. As such, we have decided as a company to make a donation to the Australian Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund, and are encouraging others who have been similarly touched by Australia to do the same.
We have profited and grown as a business because of the incredible talent and innovation of Scott, Mike and the whole Atlassian team in Sydney. Growing up in the North Shore, I saw many bush fires and had to help neighbours take protective measures to save our homes. This is personal for us on many levels. I have friends still suffering through this and have seen the toll it has taken.
Australia is probably one of the first major casualties of climate change. Atlassian co-founder Mike Cannon-Brookes has been one of the world’s great climate advocates and Atlassian will likely be deeply involved with the recovery process once the fires are under control.
As an Atlassian Partner, and as people for whom Australia means so much, we feel it is our duty to contribute in whatever small way we can. So I ask you; partner to partner, partner to customer, friend to friend; please give if you can. We are contributing $2000 to start.

“Australia is a nation of compassion. Courage and compassion. And the third of these great values: resilience.” – Kevin Rudd
